Bathtub or Shower floor CUT-OUT
For before and after pictures of cut-outs click here
-When you need it-
If you have cracks in the floor of your fiberglass, acrylic, plastic, or cultured marble tub or shower unit, it is usually an indication of a lack of support under the tub or shower floor.
If you have cracks in the floor of your unit, even small ones there is a good chance that water is leaking through. You should discontinue using the unit and get it properly repaired ASAP. You do not water to cause more serious damage.
Some companies will attempt to repair this with just a surface patch. Some will spray foam into the floor and then apply the surface patch. Those types of methods might look alright at first but they DO NOT LAST.
Putting a patch over the top of the damage does nothing to address what caused the damage. Foam is not structural, it does not properly support weight and use. The one thing foam is great for, is acting as a sponge, soaking up and holding all the water that leaks when the job isn't done right! (as we have seen many times when we cut open the floor to fix work done by other companies)
-How we fix it-
We cut out the floor of the unit that is lacking support. Doing so allows us to see exactly what is causing the cracking, it also allows us to clean all the "junk" (which usually includes the damaged particle board, wooden slats, or other failing support that is under the floor of the unit. Once we have the floor cut out, clear, cleaned out, and free of any debris, we use a quick drying/non-shrinking type of cement material that is extremely strong and durable to thoroughly support the floor of your unit. The tub or shower floor will now be as strong and solid as the foundation of the house!
Once we have completely packed in and leveled off the cement material and allow it to harden, we then "re-fiberglass" the floor with liquid resin and fiberglass cloth. This seals the floor making it completely water-proof.
Once the liquid resin has cured, we then do all the needed finishing touches to the floor in preparation to it being refinished.
At this point just the floor can be refinished to match the surrounding tub or shower unit or the entire unit can be completely refinished to look like a brand new unit.

Porcelain Bathtub Refinishing
For before and after pictures of Porcelain bathtubs click here
-When you need it-
A complete bathtub refinishing will make a huge difference if you don't like the color of your bathtub, if it has lost its shine, if the surface has become porous from wear and harsh cleaning methods, or if the unit has been damaged in any other way.
Can you believe they used to mass produce pink bath tubs!?! (no offense to those who love pink tubs) Even if you don't have the honor of owning a classic- pink, avocado green, mustard yellow, or a deep blue bathtub. Even if you like the color of your tub, porcelain bathtubs do not always age gracefully!
Over time the finish of a porcelain bathtub can become worn, dull, and very porous. This makes the tub look like it's perpetually dirty. When the surface is porous it will immediately take on any dirt and grime as soon as it is used, making all the hard work you might spend cleaning it immediately disappear. No matter how often it is cleaned once the surface of a bathtub has become worn and porous the original shine and beauty of the unit will not return unless it is properly refinished.
Don't just put up with your bathtub... you should love your bathtub!!!
